Youth To The People Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant, is an exfoliating toner that contains three gentle acids and vitamin rich superfood antioxidants. This toner helps with boosting cell turnover, decongests pores, and smooths out uneven dry skin. It will strengthen skin barrier and leave skin looking healthy and radiant.
The main exfoliants include 3% Mandelic Acid (AHA) for resurfacing texture, 2% Salicylic Acid (BHA) for deep cleansing and unclogging, and 1% Gluconolactone (PHA) to boost cell turnover and hydrate. Kale, Spinach, Green Tea, and Licorice Root deliver rich antioxidants. Plus it is formulated without alcohol.
Full ingredient list: Water/Aqua/Eau, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Flower/Leaf/Stem Water, Mandelic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Salicylic Acid, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water, Gluconolactone, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Lysate Filtrate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Brassica Oleracea Acephala (Kale) Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Leaf Extract, Spinacia Oleracea (Spinach) Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Moringa Oleifera Leaf Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Glucosamine Hcl, Panthenol, Glycerin, Arginine, Sodium Phytate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Lactic Acid, Sodium Benzoate
This is packaged in a easy to use flip top glass bottle that dispenses easily into your hands or cotton pads. There is a noticeable botanical herbal scent that is not trong and no added fragrance. Has a water-like consistency which spreads over skin evenly and absorbs fairly quickly deep into skin. Doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue. I use this mostly in the evening on freshly cleansed skin.
I didn’t know what to expect but it felt gentle on my sensitive skin. I did feel a slight tingle but nothing close to burning or stinging. Like with any exfoliant slowly build up your tolerance. I use this 2-3 times a week and haven’t experience any irritation in the past 3 months. It has helped reduce oil production in my T-zone and smoothed out dry patches of skin. Dark spots however are taking a bit longer to fade which I know takes time with any product.
A few drops is all you need to swipe over face and if you only use it a few times a week this bottle will last for a while. Acids typically dry out skin but this one is non-drying and plumps my skin a bit. It pairs well with the Air-Whip or Adaptogen moisturizers. Leaves my complexion looking fresh and radiant. If you are looking for a gentle exfoliant this is a good one to include in your routine.
