The Ouai Wave Spray gives my hair texture and hold without having to spend time and effort on it. I try to be as minimalist as I can without all the hair products and this spray does the job. It’s a cult fave for many and I always get asked by people what smells so good in my hair.
I have thick heavy straight hair so here are a few ways I use this spray:
Option 1: On slightly damp air dried hair I will spray this into the bottom half of my hair. Brush it out and toss it into a high bun and sleep on it. In the morning, I shake it out and it leaves me with long loose beach waves.
Option 2: After I’ve curled my hair with an curling wand, I’ll go in with this as a finishing spray to make my curls last longer during the day and also to soften the curls if they are too poofy.
Option 3: When I wear my hair dry and straight, I like to spray this near where I part my hair to give it some hold and texture so hair doesn’t always fall across my face. I’ll also spray it bit on flyaways, frizz, and on the ends of my hair.
Option 4: When I wear my hair in braids I need alot of texture to make hair look thick and volumized. Spray into dry hair and scrunch up to build volume before braiding.
Whether I wear my hair curled or straight, this spray does not make my hair clumpy, sticky, weighed down, or crunchy. Make sure to spray hair at a distance. A few spritz is all I need, so don’t go crazy with it or else your hair could look like hot tangled mess. It works great to refresh day old hair without any residue fall outs.
Wave Spray is formulated with rice protein instead of sea salt so is safe against color-treated and/or keratin-treated hair. If you wear extensions, this should be safe on them. It is also free of parabens, sulfates, and no animal testing. There is a strong floral fragrance in this spray incase you have sensitivities. I just happen to like how it smells in my hair and the scent does not bother me.
I use this a ton during the summer for those messy loose beach waves. It also comes in a mini size which I always bring with me whenever I travel. Very easy minimalistic no frills clear spray bottle.
