TATCHA THE ESSENCE – Plumping Skin Softener
I love using essences! My face feels a big change right after application on cleansed skin. They calm my skin and reduce redness. It puts a nice level of moisture back into my skin and gets it ready for the next layers of moisture that I will be applying. Plus, it helps slow down the signs of aging skin. I am a big Tatcha fan and have used a number of their products. I couldn’t help myself by adding The Essence to my collection. Just like the rest of the Tatcha line, The Essence contains concentrations of green tea, red algae, and rice, aka pure hadesei which provides the skin with renewed radiant skin. One of the very first things I noticed about Tatcha is the luxurious packaging. From the outer box to the purple wrapping paper to the logo’s & design of the containers. The bottle is slightly heavy and has a frosted gradient translucent white shade with a sculpted tapered spout. The essence pours out slowly as it comes out from the spout.
Texture is thin, almost like water with a little weight. As I pour The Essence into my hands, it already begins rolling away. With that said, this formulation absorbs into skin very quickly and leaves no traces of stickiness. You can use thin cotton pads as well. I did not really notice any scent or fragrance which is great for sensitive skin people like me.
I use this mostly in the evenings on freshly cleansed skin. I pour a palmful into my hands and gently pat the product onto skin. I press my hands to my face for a few seconds to warm up the product. Don’t forget your neck! I make sure to always bring the product down to my neck area.
I found The Essence to be cooling and hydrating on my face. Skin felt supple and plump. Complexion looks brighter and healthy. It really helped the application of serums and moisturizers to absorb better into skin. I have quite a few essences that I use on rotation. Whenever I use The Essence, I follow up with Tatcha serums & moisturizers so that I can reep in all the nutrients within this brand.
Overall, I am very happy to include The Essence in my skincare routine. With longer use over time I will see more beneficial results in my skin. There are many essences on the market at various prices (i.e Pyunkang Yul, Sum37, SKII, Missha). The Essence is pricey but SKII is even more expensive. That didn’t stop people from buying SKII. I suggest using essence’s that works for your skin regardless of the brand. Everyone’s skin is different and results will vary as well. The Essence will be on the re-purchase list.
