Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum is a holy grail that I cannot live without in my skincare routine. It has always been a brand on my wishlist to try and finally had the opportunity when I was gifted a pr package from Sulwhasoo. I am very impressed with this serum and I’ve only started using it just this year. That’s how good it is! A cult favorite among skincare users who adore kbeauty. I’m glad this Korean luxury skincare brand has been recognized world wide for it’s amazing line.
I have been a fan of using Korean skincare even before it was introduced to the Western market. It was a lot harder to order products overseas back then but now they have become more accessible online and retail stores where I live. My skin reacts well to Korean skincare more so than Western brands. Mostly because Korean skincare is simple and uses many traditional herbs. Most Western brands focus too much on actives, acids, and retinols that are just too potent for my skin to handle.
The formula has a light brown appearance. The hero ingredient consists of a potent cocktail of five Korean herbs that hydrate, nourish, and firms. These include lotus, rehmannia, peony, solomon’s seal, & white lily. I can smell the herbs in this serum which I actually love smelling. The packaging is on par with the rest of their skincare line, housed in a minimalist luxe white glass bottle with a pump dispenser.
I love the fluidity of this serum, a slightly watery viscosity. I personally find this works best when it is the first product applied to freshly cleansed skin. A little goes a long ways since it has a watery consistency. I use two pumps for my entire face. My skin absorbs this fairly quickly and does not feel sticky.
Leaves my skin feeling nourished and revitalized. Skin feels plump and my complexion has a nice healthy glow. It really does a great job at prepping my skin and helps my moisturizers absorb better. With consistent use I have noticed my skin feeling much more hydrated and improved uneven skin texture. I have sensitive skin and never experienced any breakouts from this. This has definitely transformed my skincare routine.
This is a luxury serum that gives skin an extra boost for those who are really into skincare and not necessarily needed. I care alot about my skin and how I take care of it so I can never skip this step in my routine. It’s definitely a serum that I will repurchase again and again when I run out.
