You know how I love a good Kbeauty brand and if you’ve been following me you know how much I have raved about South Korean skincare brand Pyunkang Yul. Formulated for those with sensitive skin in mind and known for their powerful yet short list of ingredients.
Let me begin by saying that the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Ampoule is not meant to be used alone on skin. This type of moisturizer is known as an Occlusive, contains ingredients similar to sleeping packs and barrier creams which help to seal in your moisture. If you use it alone it will not provide your skin with the hydration you need.
This Moisture Ampoule contains six ingredients: Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Polysorbate 80, PEG-150 Distearate, Polysorbate 20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate. Coptis Japonica Root Extract, is a powerful skin-calming and hydrating ingredient, makes up over 90% of this ampoule.
The texture is viscous and thick. The consistency is similar to a honey texture. It may seem a bit tricky to apply to skin due to its thickness but don’t let that scare you. After you have laid down all your toners, essences, serums, and moisturizers this ampoule is basically the last step in the routine to seal everything up before bed.
Best to apply a few drops on fingertips and gently press into skin in a slow patting motion. Apply more if you need more and continue to keep patting till everything is absorb into skin. It does feel a bit tacky in the beginning but it soon goes away. I use the Pyunkang essence toner, moisture serum, and moisturizer all from the same brand before applying this ampoule but you can use surely use it with any brand.
It really has made a big difference in my skin. My complexion looks and feels nourished. My pores are smaller and reduction in oils in my t-zone. It locks in everything that I had applied to my skin. Skin is calm, bouncy, and super hydrated in the morning. Such a great way to seal in all the goodness.
Pyunkang Yul is available at Ohlolly, Style Korean | $28-$30USD, 3.3 oz
