Pixi can do no wrong when it comes to skincare. I was gifted with the Glow Mud Mask which was part of a pr sample package sent to me from Pixi. I love a good mask that can draw out impurities and oils without being harsh on my skin. The formula is perfect for all skin types and all you need is 15 minutes. That’s the fastest mini facial you could ever have in the comfort of your own home.
The 3 main ingredients in the Glow Mud Mask are:
*Kaolin Clay – deep cleanses, purifies, and draws out the oils
*Dead Sea Salt – detoxifies the surface of skin
*Ginseng – brightens and clarifies with aloe vera to balance skin
I like how the mask comes in a easy to squeeze tube (not in a jar where I have to scoop it out). Has a subtle floral/lavender scent that is not overpowering. The texture is super soft and creamy which makes application to skin very spreadable. My area of concern is my oily t-zone so this is where I usually apply the mask. The rest of my face is pretty normal and blemish free so I avoid masking those areas. If you have oily or acne prone skin then you can use this all over your face. I also like to spot treat when needed.
Make sure to apply a thin layer to skin and it will dry down quickly. I leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. When it dries down, it does not make my face stiff or tight, I can still move my face around. I only leave it on for 15 minutes but I’m sure you could leave it on longer if your skin is more problematic. Very easy to wash off in the shower or with a warm washcloth without much scrubbing.
It does not dry out my skin. Leaves me super clean, soft, and glowing. I can tell my pores have been decongested and I have less oil production during the week. It is gentle on my sensitive skin making it easy to use one to two time a week. It may be considered pricey for a drugstore brand but compared to higher priced prestiged brands, this is much more affordable and a great alternative for the similar results.
Pixi Glow Mud Mask is available at Kohl’s, Selfridges, Target | $22USD, 1.52 oz
