IOPE Bio Intensive Essence is a water formulated anti-aging serum that absorbs quickly delivering deep moisture to skin. I love incorporating essences in my skincare routine because it’s like a concentrated treatment. When I was gifted this pr package from IOPE I was beyond excited. With the first few uses, I was blown away by the instant boost of hydration in my skin.
This essence is formulated with Bio-redox™ technology which recharges skin barrier to become stronger over time. Not only does it deeply hydrate but helps brighten and smooth complexion. There is no scent that I can detect. Ingredients include: Saccharomyces ferment filtrate, purified water, niacinamide, glycerin, propanediol, butylene glycol, ketoglutaric acid, saccharomyces ferment, glycolipids, natto gum, green tea extract, theanine, glycereth-26, adenosine, carbomer, caffeine, caprylyl glycol, cholesterol, pentylene glycol, polyglycerin-3, PEG-8, hydrogenated lecithin, potassium hydroxide, 1,2-hexanediol, phenoxyethanol
Depending on my skin’s current condition, a toner or essence is applied after my face has been cleansed. A toner will help balance out my skin’s pH level and remove any extra impurities that didn’t get removed from the cleansing. Once skin is cleansed and balanced, now it’s time to apply a targeted treatment by adding an essence. Essences contain highly concentrated levels of active ingredients that enable a deeper penetration into the skin barrier. If my skin is feeling dry and needs more hydration, I replace my toner with an essence.
I really enjoy using this essence for hydration purposes. It does a great job of instanting plumping my skin and does not feel sticky. Serums and moisturizers sink in fairly well. I have noticed improvement in smoothing out uneven skin textures. I do not think it does much for brightening up skin which I have other essences on rotation that will fit this purpose. I pour this directly into hands and apply to face so I do not use any cotton pads or sheets. If I need deeper hydration I’ll soak a few cotton sheets and let it sit on face for a few minutes.
This essence is housed in a heavy weight screw top glass bottle. There are indicator marks on the side of the bottle to let you know how much product you should be using on a weekly basis. I ignore the indicators and use however much I feel I need. My only complaint is the small opening at the top of bottle which I have to shake hard to get product to come out. This is suitable for all skin types and works well for those who are specifically looking for an hydrating essence. I can use this in my in am/pm routine.
