I’m From Mugwort Essence is your skin’s best friend to help calm those with irritated angry to sensitive skin. Mugwort is not widely used ingredient in Western beauty products but has been around for generations in Asian beauty. In the last two years it has been gaining popularity especially in K-beauty in South Korea.
What I love about this essence is that it contains one single-ingredient, 100% pure mugwort extract. It reduces the chances of getting a skin reaction since it is not mixed with other ingredients. Mugwort (aka artemisia) is an herb traditionally used in Korea known for its skin healing and anti-inflammatory properties.
This essence comes packaged in a sturdy 160ml glass bottle just like other I’m From products. I find this essence to be a hybrid of an toner + serum. I use this in place of my toner right after my double cleansing routine. This is not a replacement for a toner, so if you normally tone, do tone before applying this. I just want my skin to directly drink up this single ingredient.
I apply this directly to skin instead of using cotton pads/sheets. This has a viscous water-like consistency that feels lightweight on skin. I love watery textures because they are fast absorbing and do not leave behind any stickiness. It has a light earthy herbal like scent which I find calming and dissipates after application.
My troubled areas felt an instant soothing sensation. I certainly noticed less inflammation, itchiness, and tightness on my skin. Any redness I had on my face that night would mostly be gone by morning. I like that this essence is pretty moisturizing and does not dry out my skin. It layers well underneath my face moisturizers.
This essence is a good option for all skin types especially for those dealing with acne breakouts, irritated skin, dry skin, and sensitive skin. Don’t expect instant miracles, it takes time for skin to heal depending on your situation. I have been using this essence on rotation in my skincare routine and haven’t experienced any bad reactions.
