HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE MINI + WINTER SOLSTICE MINI
At this point, I think everyone who loves beauty knows Huda Beauty. Her liquid lipsticks are one of my favorite formula’s out in the market. Over the holidays last year she launched a set of 4 cute mini’s in 4 shade collections (red, pink, nude, brown). I picked up the Liquid Matte Nude Love collection online at Sephora. It was a great value and a great way to try out more shades. Soon after I was so lucky to be gifted with the Winter Solstice lip strobes, so I was one happy girl to have 8 little mini’s!
What is it
Four mini sets of liquid matte lipsticks. Each set has their own shade range from Nudes, Browns, Reds and Pinks. I am reviewing the Nude collection.
Four mini strobing metallic lip glosses featuring a frosted color combination of cool and luminescent shades.

I love the pigmentation on these little beauties! One nice even swipe is all I need to cover my lips. The formula is slightly more runny than your average liquid lipstick. Due to that, the product goes on very thin so you won’t need too much product on your lips. The opacity of the shades are great and even as the product dries down the color stays true to when I first applied it. The finish is creamy matte. They feel very moisturizing and comfortable on my lips. Definitely leans a bit more hydrating than ABH or KVD. And the scent, smells like a sugary cake!
How I apply the liquid lipsticks. I always make sure to exfoliate lips first, use a lip balm afterwards, followed by tissuing off any excess lip balm. This creates a nice smooth base so you don’t get crinkle lips. General rule I use, apply one nice evenly thin layer to lips AND never go back with additional layers. Doing so will make it look uneven and super patchy looking. I wait for the liquid lipstick to dry down a bit before pressing my lips together. Never smack your lips while they are wet as it will pull the product off your lips leaving patchy spots. In the evening I just use a oil based cleanser and it comes off easily without scrubbing.
As for the Lip Strobes, I love wearing lip glosses during spring/summer so these are going to be nice worn alone or as a lip topper. I love seeing the metallic colors in the clear tube packaging. These go on semi-sheer on natural lips with hints of metallic shimmer. Just enough pigment but not feel like a disco ball dancing on my lips. These make my lips look fresh, dewy, plump looking! The formula is slightly tacky and is not long lasting. As with most lip glosses, I will be re-applying more as it comes off whenever I eat/drink. Even if the gloss comes off, it continues to leave behind a nice little shimmer. I think I will see myself wearing these more during the summer. When i need a extra pop I do a little swipe over my liquid mattes. The extra sparkle looks great!
Overall, I really like the Huda Beauty Nude Edition Love Collection. Nice range of brown, peachy, pinky nudes shades. All of which are wearable on me and great for an everyday look. The formula is nice and did not dry out my lips. They are not transfer proof, comes off during meals, so I need a little touch up. And that is totally okay with me. The Winter Solstice Lip Strobe glosses were surprising nice. I can see myself wearing these out on spring/summer days. They are very pigmented. When applied they have this holographic shine in outdoor lighting. They look great worn alone or as a lip topper. I hope Huda Kattan makes more of these mini lip sets in the future. It’s a great way to try out more lipsticks/glosses shades in one shot and its a good introduction to the brand for someone who has never tried before.
Have you tried the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis or Lip Strobes? Which is your favorite?
