Glossier is a brand founded in New York by Emily Weiss from Into the Gloss. With the Glossier hype, many have gone totally overboard with ordering everything the brand has to offer or buying just a few items to test out. They are aesthetically pleasing on the eye, minimalistic with a lot of millennial pink and all clean packaging. If you’re a fan of skincare or minimal makeup, you’ might just be a big fan of Glossier.

Well Lovelys, I resisted for a very long time but finally caved in making my first Glossier purchase. I like how their products are simple and to the point. Price point seems reasonable from drugstore to mid-range. Since I’m really into skincare, I picked the Glossier Phase 1 set, which has a cleanser, moisturizer, & lip balm. In addition to the set, I also got the rich moisturizer and one of the super serums.

Milky Jelly Cleanser
Milky describes it’s consistency when applied to dampened face. The texture comes out jelly and spreads easily on skin. It is on the thick side but it feels very nice on my skin. It does not have a scent. As a first step cleanse, this removed all my makeup but didn’t get all the eyeliner off my eyes. Used as a second step cleanse, this removed everything else that didn’t come off the first time. Skin felt soft, smooth, and did not feel stripped of moisture. $18USD

Priming Moisturizer
Not hydrating enough in general. I prefer my evening routine to be heavy and thick so it has time to soak in as I sleep. In the morning I do very light moisturizing. Using this is perfect and works great as a base before makeup application since it is lightweight, leaves no shine on face, but lacking a bit on the hydration. It’s fairly basic no wow’s here. $22USD

Rose Balm Dotcom
Very first impression is that this balm is very thick, so a little bit goes a long ways. It goes on easy and really protects my lips from being dry. It felt pretty long lasting too. I have the rose shade, which gives just a hint of color but it’s mostly my natural lip color that comes thru. $12USD

Super Bounce
I’ve slowly been incorporating this serum into my nighttime routine. This contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 (for moisture/plump-face). I typically apply to cleansed skin before moisturizer. Serum has a thick gel consistency and applies to skin nicely. I tend to apply more around the dry areas for maximum absorption. I love how it feels and how hydrated my face feels in the morning thus far! Bottle is quite small for it’s price compared to other brands on the market. $28USD

Priming Moisturizer rich
This is my favorite and best product of the bunch. I love the lavender scent which is soothing & refreshing. Cream is very rich with an airy feel. When applied to face it melts into my skin. Dries down to a soft satin finish mostly due to the dimethicone filling in the pores. I like how this product sinks into my skin and not sit on top leaving skin hydrated, more so than the priming moisturizer. Works great before makeup application. $35USD

Overall, I am impressed with the products I’ve selected in my first order. The price points are reasonable. The Phase I set is $40USD. These items will be incorporated into my skincare routine with other products that I am currently using. Glossier is definitely more on the simple side especially if you are someone who has a minimal to no time skincare routine. However, if you are someone who is looking for high levels of skincare benefits and have an extensive skincare routine you can add a few of these items to your routine or pass on them altogether. There are a number of bloggers and Glossier Reps affiliates who offer 10%-20% discounts if you buy thru their chanel so it won’t break your bank.  Available for purchase at Glossier.
