DRUNK ELEPHANT VIRGIN MARULA LUXURY FACIAL OIL
I am obsessed with facial oils. They are the easiest thing to pamper my skin with. I typically do an overnight treatment 1 to 2 times a week on freshly cleansed face wearing nothing but facial oils before hitting my bed. I have a handful of facial oils that I use on a weekly rotation but the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Facial Oil is the one I use the most. Drunk Elephant stands with by their claims of using clean ingredients in their formulations so my skin feels safe knowing every ingredient that goes into this oil is safe on my skin.

I am starting to reach more products containing fewer ingredients. You’ve heard me say time and time again that I have sensitive skin. It takes the guess work out if I have a reaction to something if there are fewer ingredients to identify from and fewer ingredients being combined which could lessen the skin triggers.
I am very happy that Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is formulated with just a single ingredient, 100% cold pressed Marula oil. Marula oil is great for the skin while providing benefits such as anti-aging, antioxidants, hydration, and youthful radiant tone.
Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil comes in solid square shaped bottle with a dropper. I love the fact that the bottle is solid and not transparent. The Marula oil is being protected from potential exposure to sunlight and air which can loose it’s effectiveness over time.
About 1 to 2 times a week in the evening, I will put 2 to 3 drops of the Marula oil onto freshly cleansed skin. This oil is light weight and spreads easily on my face. This product goes along ways so you don’t need too much. It does not have a scent which is a plus for me. It absorbs fairly quickly within a minute without being overly greasy. Once the Marula Oil is massaged into my skin, I like to use my jade facial roller and give my face a good 1 to 2 minute roll to ensure the product really sinks into my skin. I consider this as my overnight treatment, so nothing else goes on my face after the Marula oil is applied. In morning, my skin feels soothed and soft. If you have dry skin, this will work wonders in restoring dry parched skin back to hydrated plump skin. I can also mix this with other Drunk Elephant moisturizer’s like la retro or protini if I need extra hydration on dry skin days.
Overall, I really like the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. With continued use over time, I am sure I will see more of the anti-aging skin benefits. As for now, my face feels calm and hydrated with every use. This is the smallest bottle that I purchased in the 0.5oz at $40USD from Sephora. It’s a bit pricey for a brand that stands by it’s claim of using toxic free ingredients but well worth it for someone like me with skin sensitivities. Plus, it will take me a while to finish this off. You can also check out some of Drunk Elephant’s kit’s that contain a mini Marula oil if you want to give it a try but not commit to a full size bottle. Granted there are Marula oils from high end to affordable, every oil is going to have its own weight/texture and mostly likely will perform differently on your skin.
