Alterna Restructuring Bond Repair Leave-In Heat Protection Spray is usually the bottle I grab when I need to blow dry my hair. I typically let my hair air dry after a good hair wash but if I need to rush off to bed I cannot stand sleeping on wet damp hair. It’s not good for my scalp, not good for my bedding, and I wake up with wet or crumpled bed hair.
The purpose of a heat protection spray is to ultimately add a barrier between your hot tool and your hair. It will help reduce breakage, split ends, and frizz. They seal in moisture and smooth the cuticle so hair feels soft and smooth. You can use on damp or dry hair whether you are blow drying, straightening or curling your hair. Heat protectant sprays assist to minimize hair damage so you still need to maintain the proper hair care with use of masks, oils, and repairing shampoos/conditioners.

Bond Repair has a consistency that is between a spray and serum. It is housed in a transparent plastic easy to use spray bottle. Nothing special about the spray nozzle but would be nice to have a finer spray. It has a bit of a citrus scent that is pretty subtle and does not linger long. I spray my hair from mid-length to the ends avoiding the scalp, then comb thru to evenly distribute the product. If I am spraying onto dry hair, I wait a few minutes for it to dry before using a curling iron.
After a blow dry on damp hair, my hair feels silky soft and shiny. There is no film or greasy residue. It looks very healthy and hydrated. Hair strands do not feel dry and less breakage. I can’t really feel the product ever being in my hair which is good because I hate having my hair weighed down. I have very long thick hair which tends to be a bit dry mid way down since I use a curling iron. A few spritiz of this is all I need so this bottle will last for a long time.
